Halloween

I am trying to catch up on my blog since I have had Maci.  I finally feel like I have things kind of figured out with two kids.  We went to Ephraim for Halloween.  It was nice to be in Ephraim having my Mom taking care of me after just having Maci.  Davis had fun trick-o-treating around Mom's neighborhood.  Davis was a Minion for Halloween this year.  Maci was a cute little pumpkin.

Maci Scott

On October 18th our little girl Maci was born!  Here is the story of how that day went.  I woke up that morning to go to the bathroom and I decided to go lay back down since Davis wasn't awake yet.  I was laying there for only a few minutes and I had to get up to throw up.  After I threw up I was about to get back into bed and then it happened my water broke.  At first I thought I peed my pants but I seriously had just went and there was to much liquid to be me peeing my pants.  Matt was already at work so I called him and told him that I thought my water had just broke.  He was pretty surprised that I was calling to tell him that.  The reason why he was so surprised is because we were scheduled to have our baby October 30th.  Also none of my sisters water had ever broke they were either induced or had a schedule C-section.  He told me to go get his Mom to take care of Davis and call the Doctor's office.  So I was sitting there in my room with a towel underneath me just feeling it come out.  The Doctor's office was closed for the day so I called and told Matt.  It's a good thing he works closely with the Doctor's here in Delta because he ended up sending a txt to my Doctor and he told him that I needed to go into the hospital.  My water broke at 8:30am and by 9:00am we were in the hospital getting checked in.  Things moved a lot slower with Maci then with Davis which is a good thing.  This time around I was calm and excited to see my little girl.  My Doctor came in to check to see if I was dilated at all and I wasn't.  He said if I was like at a 8 then he would suggest to try natural.  Everything went well in surgery and at 12:03pm Maci came out screaming.  She weighed 6lbs 6oz and 18 inches long.  They let Matt hold her the whole time by my head while they were sewing me back up.  Right from the get go she wanted to eat.  She was trying to eat Matt's hand the whole time.  I later found out that while they were doing surgery they noticed on my old incision that there was a tear on my uterine wall.  They said it looked like it just didn't heal the way it was supposed too.  This tear could of lead to a lot of bad things happening.  My Doctor said if I would of went through labor contractions it would of for sure torn and Maci could of came out through that hole and most likely kill her and possibly me.  Also I had Maci 2 1/2 weeks early and he said if she would of gotten bigger then it would of torn too.  So with all that being said they took a lot longer to sew me up then normal to fix that tear.  I am so glad that my water broke and that I wasn't dilated because a C-section was really the only safe option for me to get Maci here safe and sound.  Thank you family for coming and supporting Matt, Davis, and I.  It was fun to have all of you there at the hospital with us.  We love you guys so much!

Davis did so well with meeting Maci.  All he wanted to do was to hold her and give her kisses.

Lotoja 2013

Lotoja 2013 was held in September and my Mom and I were our husbands support crew.  This is Matt's second year doing Lotoja.  I felt he handled this big task of a 206 mile bike race in one day a lot better than last year.  He did feel like he could of done better but I think he did great!

This year I was pregnant which made it interesting with me being in a car all day and having to go to the bathroom.  My Mom and I made it work though and I had plenty of snacks to hold me over.

Matt about to cross the finish line!!

Matt after the race.  I didn't think he was going to get up.  People were passing him asking if he needed help.

Lotoja finished for the year 2013

For those that don't know my Dad was in a motorcycle accident at the end of June.  He hurt his knee and couldn't put weight on it for six weeks.  After being off of his bike for that long we didn't think he was going to be able to ride in Lotoja.  Well he surprised us all!  He didn't just ride in it he finished right before they stop timing the race.  Both Matt and my Dad did so good and I am so proud of them both!
